光接收单元实现光信号的光电转换和低噪音前置扩大，四端口光接收单元多，为了节约空间，光接收单元一般采用集成单元，分离单元少。前级放大实现信号低噪声放大，补偿后分配器的分配损失。四端口光接收机一般为高电平输出，加上后级功率倍增扩大模块的功率增益不高，因此前级扩大的增益相对较高，一般铝压铸通讯壳体在22-27dBuv之间，除该模块具有低噪音要求外，对非线性指标也有较高的要求，其非线性指标对整个机器的非线性贡献相对较大。后级功率放大模块基本采用功率倍增放人模块，根据输出高电平的初始设计，可选择的模块通信铸铝机箱增益一般为20~25dBuv，高级机型中前后级放大采用GaAs技术模块，适应高电平输出时对非线性指标的要求。
